Going into this project, the homeowner asked for a modern, updated look with sharp contrasting colors and Michon Siding & Windows delivered! By using vertical siding we visually drew the eye up along the exterior of the home giving the impression of a raised roof line. The vertical exterior lines also provide a unique detail that sets the home apart for added curb appeal. Not only did the home benefit from big aesthetic changes, but also structural ones! Our dedicated and experienced local contractors and exterior specialists reinforced the homes exterior by expertly installing ½” insulation underneath the Board & Batten Premium Vertical Vinyl Siding – a feature that’s critical for energy efficiency. The home’s new exterior will also maintain superior water and moisture resistance protection for years to come! Additionally, this home, just like all Michon siding projects, received a Tyvek vapor barrier wrap with custom field-fabricated flashing to tightly seal and reinforce the installation and the connections between the wall, shingles, siding and brick (with absolutely no caulking!).

For the soffit, Michon Siding and Windows installed a Reinforced Premium Vinyl Invisible Vented Soffit. With its exclusive TriBeam(r) System, Charter Oak is one of the most rigid vinyl soffit products. It effortlessly spans uneven surfaces and delivers even course lines while resisting sagging in the long run. Customers often use Charter Oak soffit as an attractive, low-maintenance option for porch ceilings, overhangs, or focal points where you want to create high impact appeal (for eaves, specify Charter Oak ventilated soffit paneling). The product also features aeration openings that are hidden inside the panel’s grooves to provide the airflow needed to reduce heat and humidity build-up in attics.

For this particular home, the clients opted to install Alside energy efficient casement windows in a ‘beige/woodgrain-light oak’ color and a new sliding patio door (Model 6100P) in a ‘beige/woodgrain-light oak’ color. The roof also saw some MAJOR UPDATES. We started this part of the renovation with a complete tear off of not one, but two layers of the original shingles. We installed New Owens Corning Duration Series Shingles in an Architectural Style (color: Storm Cloud). The new roof comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty and Ice & Water Shield. The complete installation consisted of 2 new VELUX skylights with new original flashing (interior finish was was included), 2 layers of starter strip, Roofing Synthetic Felt, COBRA Snow Country Ridge vents, new lead pipes, and a custom made drip edge that matched the colors with the fascia.

Finally, the Michon team installed a Michon Signature Custom Aluminum Trim beveled frame & overlap system for all of windows and doors (including the garage door). We completed the remodel with seamless gutters (0,032) and oversized downspouts throughout. The newly installed gutter guards guarantee maintenance free construction with a Limited Lifetime Warranty on all the materials used in carrying out the project.
