        Chicago, IL – 5 Star Chicagoland Exterior Renovation Specialist Completes Total Transformation with New ‘Green’ Vinyl Insulated Siding, New Soffit, Fascia, Windows, Gutters, & Roof at 6764 Iona Avenue

        Welcome to our newest completed exterior transformation out of Chicago where the Michon Siding & Windows team installed new vinyl insulated siding (providing the home with an instant green energy efficient upgrade!), new soffit, gutters and a new roof!         Let’s start with the windows! For this home, we removed the old dated windows and replaced them with We replaced every window within the home with 5 Alside Triple-Pane Vinyl Mezzo DH Windows (color: White/White). These window upgrades not only boost the home’s energy efficiency levels, but will provide more consistent and stable year-round comfort. All windows have ClimaTech® ThermD TG2 insulating glass (Low-E) and argon gas with a manufacturer’s lifetime, transferable warranty against glass breakage (unless specified otherwise). Additionally, we offer a ‘Special Michon Windows Replacement’ Lifetime Limited Warranty against glass breakage and a 100% Maintenance Free with a Limited Lifetime Warranty on all the materials used.
         Our team tore off the old, dated and inefficient aluminum siding and instead installed New Charter Oak XL Reinforced Premium Vinyl Siding in a traditional clap panel profile (color; white). There was ½” of insulation added under the siding to provide the homeowners with boosted energy efficient levels throughout the entire home, creating a more comfortable (and cost-efficient!) atmosphere. Our dedicated and experienced local contractors and exterior specialists also installed a Tyvek vapor barrier wrap around the whole home with custom field-fabricated flashing to tightly seal and reinforce the installation and the connections between the wall and siding (with absolutely no caulking!). The field fabricated flashing was installed on all of the windows and the doors as well! This created a clean and consistent look throughout the entire exterior of the home, with added support for year round comfort. Finally, 4″ wide TrimWorks premium corners were installed in the color White. A very important quality about this siding is that it has NO SIDING SEAMS for even more elevated energy efficiency levels. 

        For the soffit, we installed a Alside Reinforced Premium Vinyl Vented Soffit with hidden aeration openings (color; white). These openings are expertly hidden inside the panel’s grooves and provide the air flow that reduces heat and humidity build-up in attics. With its exclusive TriBeam(r) System, Charter Oak is known in the industry as being one of the most rigid vinyl soffit products. It effortlessly spans uneven surfaces, delivering even course lines while resisting sagging in the long run. Customers often use Charter Oak soffit as an attractive, low-maintenance option for porch ceilings, overhangs, or focal points where you want to create high impact appeal (for eaves, specify Charter Oak ventilated soffit paneling). The product also features aeration openings that are hidden inside the panel’s grooves to provide the airflow needed to reduce heat and humidity build-up in attics.

        We completed the exterior renovation by replacing the gutters with new coordinating seamless gutters that feature oversized downspouts . These and the gutter guards were also installed in the white color for a seamless and beautiful look throughout every detail on the home! Every single detail in this project was meticulously thought out and chosen to benefit the overall curb appeal of the home. Additionally,the ENTIRE project is 100% maintenance free with a limited lifetime warranty.

        Our home siding technicians also installed a Michon Signature Custom Aluminum Trim Beveled Frame & Overlap System for the fascia in the white color. This feature not only looks exceptional but more importantly, significantly reinforces the connection between the siding and trim with NO CAULKING – leading to superior stability, guaranteed to be maintenance free.

        Last but certainly not least, we tackled the roof! We completely tore off all of the old roof shingles and replaced them with New Owens Corning Duration Series Shingles in an architectural style.  These shingles come with a lifetime warranty, feature an Ice & Water Shield and are installed in 2 layers with a starter strip. We completed the roof renovation with a Roofing Synthetic Felt, new ridge vent, new lead pipe and new chimney flashing. There was a custom made drip edge that was created to color match with the fascia (color: Onyx Black).

        • Siding: Tear off existing aluminum siding and install Premium Reinforced Vinyl Siding in the Charter Oak XL traditional clap panel profile design (color: White). All Michon siding projects get vapor barrier wrap, ½” insulation and custom, field-fabricated flashing for all windows & doors.

        • Trim & Gutters: Installed Seamless Gutters (0,032”) with oversized downspouts & gutter guards. (color: White). Custom Aluminum Trim was installed as a beveled frame with an overlap system.
        • Roofing: Tore off existing shingles. Installed New Owens Corning Duration Series Shingles (architectural style) with Lifetime Warranty. Ice & Water Shield with 2 layers, starter strip, custom drip edge, Roofing Synthetic Felt, new Ridge vent, and New Chimney flashing (Color: Onyx Black)
