At one of our latest exterior reno projects, we completely overhauled the entire exterior of the home; it’s almost unrecognizable! This beautiful home ranch home received a custom bright and refreshed exterior redesign that highlighted the traditional architectural aspects of the home’s exterior while providing the homeowners with elevated energy efficiency levels and structural durability for decades to come – adding tons of value to the home!

The project first started with tearing off the old dated aluminum inefficient exterior. We then replaced that with Ascend Composite Cladding Siding (color: White). This product is ideal for not warping, fading, shrinking, swelling, roting, or proving problematic during installation (unlike other siding systems). Different from wood and fiber cement/hardie board siding that requires constant maintenance (such as touch ups or repainting every 5-10 years), Composite Cladding gives homeowners years of maintenance-free upkeep while maintaining its great look. Additionally, the industry-leading lifetime warranty guarantees lasting beauty and superior performance – truly giving homeowners peace of mind.

Finishing off the exterior, our dedicated and experienced local contractors and exterior specialists installed a Tyvek vapor barrier wrap with custom field-fabricated flashing to tightly seal and reinforce the installation and the connections between the wall and siding (with absolutely no caulking!). These steps are critical to securely protect the home against sensitive gaps and spots that are invisible to the eye.

The gutters surrounding the roofline were also replaced with new color coordinating seamless gutters (0,032), oversized downspouts and gutter guards. The new gutters feature completely maintenance-free construction and a limited lifetime warranty on all of the materials used in carrying out the project.

The Michon Siding & Windows team also installed a unique Charter Oak Vented Soffit with hidden aeration openings located inside the panel’s grooves to allow the air flow needed to reduce heat and humidity build-up – keeping your attic dry. With its exclusive TriBeam(r) System, Charter Oak is known in the industry as being one of the most rigid vinyl soffit products. It effortlessly spans uneven surfaces, delivering even course lines while resisting sagging in the long run. Customers often use Charter Oak soffit as an attractive, low-maintenance option for porch ceilings, overhangs, or focal points where you want to create high impact appeal.

Our home siding technicians also installed a Michon Signature Custom Aluminum Trim Beveled Frame & Overlap System for all of the windows, doors and fascia. This feature not only looks exceptional but more importantly, significantly reinforces the connection between the siding and trim with NO CAULKING – leading to superior stability and guaranteed to be maintenance free. 

And that’s not all! Finally, we topped off this complete exterior reno by tearing off all of the old roof shingles and replacing them with New Owens Corning Duration Series Shingles in an architectural style.  These shingles come with a lifetime warranty, feature an Ice & Water Shield and are installed in 2 layers with a starter strip. We completed the roof renovation with a Roofing Synthetic Felt, new ridge vent, new lead pipe and new chimney flashing. There was a custom made drip edge that was created to color match with the fascia (color: Brownwood).
Last, but definitely not least, we can’t forget the upgrade to the windows! We replaced every window within the home with 5 Alside Triple-Pane Vinyl Mezzo DH Windows (color: White’/White, Half-Screen). These window upgrades not only boost the home’s energy efficiency levels, but will provide more consistent and stable year-round comfort. All windows have ClimaTech® ThermD TG2 insulating glass (Low-E) and argon gas with a manufacturer’s lifetime, transferable warranty against glass breakage (unless specified otherwise).
