        Schaumburg, IL – Total Home Transformation by Local 5 Star Chicagoland Exterior Renovation Expert with New Energy Efficient Windows, Composite Siding and Front & Patio Doors at 108 Mendon Lane

        Our latest exterior transformation is an absolute MUST SEE! We completely transformed this ranch home in Schaumburg Illinois with upgraded curb appeal (not to mention energy savings!)! We not only replaced the dated, poorly insulated siding with low maintenance and long lasting composite siding, but we boosted the home’s energy efficiency levels with new windows, new doors and premium vinyl soffit.         The windows received a major EXTERIOR RENOVATION UPGRADE in style AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY. Let’s start with the windows! In total, 15 windows were upgraded to DH Alside Messo Triple-Pane windows. The thermal Triple-Pane DH windows boost the home’s energy efficiency levels by providing more consistent and stable year-round comfort. All windows feature ClimaTech® ThermD TG2 insulating glass (Low-E) and argon gas with a manufacturer’s lifetime, transferable warranty against glass breakage (unless specified otherwise). This home’s new windows were built with an interior wood box fully laminated light oak box and  3¼” colonial light oak casing color. We also installed one bay window with the same top-quality double hung Alside Mezzo Triple Pane windows. Finally, all of the windows and doors were customized with efficient field-fabricated flashing. 

        That brings us to the door upgrades (and there were some big ones!). First, the patio door was replaced with a 6’ Alside Promenade Patio Door boasting the same triple pane features as the windows. The front door was upgraded to a completely custom made fully insulated front door with self swing features in a beautiful sandpiper color. (inside color: White Oak, outside color: Sandpiper). The storm door was also replaced with a brand new aluminum storm door for long-lasting reliability and strength against Chicago’s harsh weather. We completed the doors for this home with a new garage entry door featuring a white smooth fiberglass 6 panel composite frame in a sand color. Upgrading all these doors not only will impact the home’s security, but will make a huge impact on the doors internal temps, helping eliminate lost energy and drafts.

        We began the siding renovation by tearing off the old, dated and inefficient wood siding. The next important step was to protect the home with a barrier against moisture and weather. This is done by installing our dedicated and experienced local contractors and exterior specialists install a Tyvek vapor barrier wrap around the whole home. We complete the first layer with custom field-fabricated flashing to tightly seal and reinforce the installation and the connections between the wall and siding (with absolutely no caulking!). The field fabricated flashing was installed on all of the windows and the doors as well! This creates a clean and consistent look throughout the entire exterior of the home, with added support for year round comfort. Once the Tyvek wrap was installed, our team then began installing the new siding along the exterior of the house. At this particular installation, we successfully replaced inefficient, high maintenance, & outdated wood siding with industry leading Composite Cladding Horizontal Siding in a pebble color. A very important quality about this siding is that it has elevated energy efficiency levels. The composite corners were also installed in the pebble color for a seamless and timeless look.

        For the soffit, we installed a Alside Reinforced Premium Vinyl Vented Soffit with hidden aeration openings. These openings are expertly hidden inside the panel’s grooves and provide the air flow that reduces heat and humidity build-up in attics. With its exclusive TriBeam(r) System, Charter Oak is known in the industry as being one of the most rigid vinyl soffit products. It effortlessly spans uneven surfaces, delivering even course lines while resisting sagging in the long run. Customers often use Charter Oak soffit as an attractive, low-maintenance option for porch ceilings, overhangs, or focal points where you want to create high impact appeal (for eaves, specify Charter Oak ventilated soffit paneling). The product also features aeration openings that are hidden inside the panel’s grooves to provide the airflow needed to reduce heat and humidity build-up in attics. This project was completed with custom aluminum fascia in the color Monterey Sand.

        Our home siding technicians also installed a Michon Signature Custom Aluminum Trim Beveled Frame & Overlap System for all of the windows, doors and fascia. This feature not only looks exceptional but more importantly, significantly reinforces the connection between the siding and trim with NO CAULKING – leading to superior stability and guaranteed to be maintenance free. We completed the remodel with seamless gutters (0,032) and oversized downspouts throughout. The newly installed gutter guards guarantee maintenance free construction with a Limited Lifetime Warranty on all the materials used in carrying out the project.

Bay window features a new laminated frame and new 3¼” colonial casing (color:light oak). All windows have ClimaTech® ThermD TG2 insulating glass and manufacturer’s lifetime, transferable warranty and Glass Breakage and unless specified otherwise.
        • Trim & Gutters: Installed Seamless Aluminum Gutters (0,032”) with oversized downspouts & gutter guards. Custom Aluminum Trim was installed as a beveled frame with an overlap system.
        • Doors: 
          • PATIO DOOR: Installed 6’ Alside 6406-6400 Promenade Patio Door with ClimaTech TG2 technology – features a triple-pane unit with two surfaces of Low-E glass and  (color: White/White). Completed with a new 3¼”’ colonial casing color: light oak.
          • FRONT DOOR: Installed a 137 TB, Sidelight 230 TB. (Inside color: White Oak, Outside color: Sandpiper). Colonial casing 3 1/4’’ (color: light oak)
