The homeowners at 749 Brentwood Drive were ready for a change. They were tired of the dated look of their home, and moreso, tired of losing money every season from an inefficient exterior. They were looking to not only increase the value of their home through boosted curb appeal, but also start putting money back into their pockets through energy savings. That’s where our team stepped in. 

Originally, this half-brick split level home had a dull exterior of dated, dark brown wood on the siding and gutters. We began the project by tearing off the old wood siding and building a new wood fascia board for the new soffit. Next, we installed Board & Batten Premium Vertical Vinyl Siding in bright honey-hued tones creating a distinctive look that brightens the entire homes, allowing the beautiful details to really pop against the warm tones.

Not only did the home benefit from big aesthetic changes but also structural ones! Just like all Michon siding projects, our dedicated and experienced local contractors and exterior specialists installed a Tyvek vapor barrier wrap with custom field-fabricated flashing to tightly seal and reinforce the installation and the connections between the wall and siding (with absolutely no caulking!). This includes the addition of ½” insulation for added energy efficiency. These steps were critical to securely protect the home against sensitive gaps and spots that are invisible to the eye.

For the soffit, we installed a Reinforced Premium Vinyl Vented Soffit. With its exclusive TriBeam(r) System, Charter Oak is known in the industry as being one of the most rigid vinyl soffit products. It effortlessly spans uneven surfaces, delivering even course lines while resisting sagging in the long run. Customers often use Charter Oak soffit as an attractive, low-maintenance option for porch ceilings, overhangs, or focal points where you want to create high impact appeal (for eaves, specify Charter Oak ventilated soffit paneling). The product also features aeration openings that are hidden inside the panel’s grooves to provide the airflow needed to reduce heat and humidity build-up in attics. We completed the exterior renovation by replacing the gutters with new coordinating seamless gutters that feature oversized downspouts . Every single detail in this project was meticulously thought out and chosen to benefit the overall curb appeal of the home.
